"My idea of Make In India and that of our PM is very different. He thinks he can make labourers work by force. Pradhan Mantri chahtay hain ki mazdoor apnay ghutnay taik dein," Rahul said during the function, which was also attended by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
"I also agree with the PM's vision to make India a global manufacturing hub. But my agreement with the PM over the issue ends there only. Modi ji I dont know who advises you, but you should spend some time with people who have actually interacted with labourers," he added.
"We will stand by INTUC, fight for right for labourers. We will fight Modiji, BJP, RSS for your rights. When Congress was in power and whenever we felt the poor needed support, Manmohan Singhji, Soniaji were there, I want to assure you, the way we fought for farmers we will fight for you," Rahul told the gathering.
