Sharif’s letter to Modi: A new chapter in Indo-Pak ties?


After his India visit Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanking him for his hospitality and speaking of the issues at hand for both the countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif . PTI In the letter Sharif speaks of how he would like to work in harmony with India to solve the unsettled issues between the two countries. Here is the full text of Sharif's letter to Modi: Dear Prime Minister Modi, It was indeed a great pleasure to meet you in New Delhi last month; and I must say I have returned much satisfied with our meaningful exchange of thoughts on matters of bilateral and regional interest. I would also like to thank you for your generous hospitality in the enduring sub-continental tradition.

I would like to avail this opportunity to add that it is the millions living in poverty in both countries who deserve our foremost attention. In many ways their future is integrated with our common economic destiny, and I firmly believe that in our concerted effort lies the welfare and prosperity of our two nations.

I look forward to working with you in harmony to resolve all unsettled matters for the benefit of both nations. It is my earnest hope that our endeavours will lay the foundation for a much brighter future.
